Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

DigiMount (“we”, “us”, “our”) builds web, AI, and software products. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have.

We are based in South Africa and aim to handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), and, where it applies to visitors in the European Union or United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/UK GDPR).

Who we are

This website is operated by Digimount, a development studio offering web, AI, and software development services. For privacy questions, contact us at gerhard@digimountai.com or via the contact page.

Information we collect

This site has no accounts and no visitor database. We only collect information you choose to send us through a form, plus a small amount of technical data needed to run the site securely. Specifically:

  • Quote requests: when you describe a project, we collect the details you submit, typically your name, email address, and information about the project, budget, and timeline.
  • Contact messages: when you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
  • Technical data: basic request information such as IP address and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention (including rate limiting), and to keep the service available.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Respond to your quote and contact requests and discuss potential work with you.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the website, including preventing spam and abuse.
  • Meet legal, accounting, and record-keeping obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Legal basis for processing

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for optional submissions you initiate); the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request (to respond to enquiries and deliver services); our legitimate interests (to run and secure the site); and compliance with legal obligations. Under POPIA, we process personal information on comparable lawful bases, including consent and the conclusion or performance of a contract.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site stores very little in your browser, and none of it identifies you. We remember your light or dark theme preference and the fact that you have seen our cookie notice, so it does not reappear on every visit. Both stay on your device and are never sent to us. There is no login, so there is no session cookie.

We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and our cookie notice and, where required, ask for your consent first. A cookie notice appears on your first visit so you are aware of how we use cookies.

How we share information

We share personal information only where necessary, with:

  • Service providers who host this site and deliver our email, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms. Today those are Vercel (hosting) and Resend (email delivery for form submissions).
  • Professional advisers and authorities where we are legally required to do so.

Where personal information is transferred outside your country, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a comparable standard.

How long we keep it

Form submissions arrive as email and are kept in our inbox for as long as needed for the purposes above, while we are discussing or delivering work, and for any period required for legal, tax, or record-keeping reasons. When it is no longer needed, we delete it.

How we protect your information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including transport encryption, restricting who can read submissions, and security controls such as spam filtering and rate limiting on our forms. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond promptly to any issues.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to request a copy of your data. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local data-protection authority.

Children

This site and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take additional steps where required.
